When we made the decision to move back to Michigan I told Russell I wanted to start making seasonal traditions with Lennon. I mean, how could we not now that we were about to live in a state with four distinctive seasons? We weren’t in North Carolina long enough to experience their mild season changes and Florida only had one season- hot and hotter.
After living without the season changes, I realized how much I missed it. I missed hearing the birds and seeing the blooms open after a cold white and gray winter. I missed the perfect summer beach days, and the color changes in the fall. Mostly, I miss the feeling of being refreshed at the start of every new season. With every new season, there are new feelings and activities to be done. To me, that’s the part I love most.
So, to kick off our first seasonal tradition, we decided we wanted to take advantage of all the yummy Michigan fruits. Cue strawberry picking! This was my first time strawberry picking and it was so much fun. Plus, the strawberries tasted so much better freshly picked 🙂
